Trade Terms Preview

VideoGameVault trade features are planned as optional user-to-user tools for collectors who want to share collection lists, mark games for trade, propose swaps, and track accepted trades. Trading is coming soon and may change before release. VideoGameVault will not buy, sell, broker, ship, insure, escrow, or guarantee any trade.

Trading Feature Terms Preview

These preview terms explain how Shop My Vault, Trade Vault, trade proposals, tracking fields, feedback, reports, and related account features are expected to work when they become available. If you use these features after release, you agree to use them honestly, lawfully, and at your own risk.

Key Terms

Dex

Your personal game collection inside VideoGameVault. Dex entries can include title, platform, condition, quantity, purchase price, notes, cover art, pricing identifiers, and estimated values.

Hunt List

Your list of games you want. Hunt entries may be used to compare possible trades or alert you when another user's shared or trade vault includes a matching game.

Shop My Vault

A planned sharing feature that will let you create a shareable collection room so another VideoGameVault user can review selected games and send an offer or trade proposal.

Trade Vault

A planned list of games you have chosen to make available for possible trade. Marking a game for trade will not require you to accept any proposal.

Trade Proposal

A planned user-to-user proposal that identifies requested games, offered games, and any notes the users choose to include. A proposal will not be active until both users accept it in the app.

Honor System

Trades will be based on mutual trust. A trade proposal will not be final until both users agree in the app. Each user will be responsible for confirming the item details, condition, shipping method, packaging, tracking, and timing before shipping anything.

How A Trade Is Expected To Work

  1. A user marks one or more owned games for trade or shares a vault.
  2. Another user reviews the games, compares values, and sends a proposal.
  3. Both users review title, platform, variant, condition, completeness, photos or notes, estimated values, and shipping expectations.
  4. Both users must accept before the trade is considered under way.
  5. Each user ships their own agreed items and may add a tracking number in the app.
  6. Each user confirms completion after they believe the agreed trade has been fulfilled.

Shipping And Costs

Each user will ship their own items at their own expense unless both users separately agree otherwise. VideoGameVault will not collect shipping fees, provide labels, or handle delivery disputes.

Tracking Numbers

The app may help recognize common carriers and link to tracking pages when a user enters a tracking number. Tracking links will be provided for convenience only. The shipping carrier, not VideoGameVault, controls delivery status, delivery timing, loss claims, insurance, and carrier support.

Completion

A trade will only be marked complete in VideoGameVault after both users confirm completion. Completion means each user believes the agreed trade has been fulfilled.

No Payments, Escrow, Or Guarantees

VideoGameVault will not process payments, hold funds, provide escrow, verify identity, authenticate goods, inspect items, insure shipments, guarantee values, guarantee delivery, or guarantee that another user will complete a trade. Estimated values are references only and may be wrong, delayed, incomplete, or different from real-world sale prices.

User Responsibilities

Allowed Items

Users may only offer items they own and are legally allowed to trade. Stolen goods, counterfeit goods, pirated software, unsafe items, harassment, spam, fraud, and attempts to evade these terms will not be allowed.

Feedback And Reports

Users may be able to leave feedback after a completed trade and report trades that appear unsafe, fraudulent, abusive, or otherwise against these terms. VideoGameVault may review reports and restrict access to shared-vault or trade features when needed for safety, abuse prevention, support, or service reliability.

Disputes

VideoGameVault may provide records, status fields, tracking fields, feedback, and report tools, but users will be responsible for resolving user-to-user disagreements. VideoGameVault will not be a party to the trade and will not decide ownership, refunds, replacement items, chargebacks, shipping claims, or legal disputes between users.

Safety Tips

Before trading, compare photos, condition notes, platform, region, variant, and estimated values. Use trackable shipping for mailed trades, consider insurance for high-value items, and avoid proposals that feel rushed, unclear, or too good to be true. The FTC publishes general advice about avoiding online marketplace scams at consumer.ftc.gov.

Privacy

When trading features become available, trade profile, trade proposal, feedback, report, and technical log data will be handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes To Trade Features

VideoGameVault may change, delay, pause, remove, or limit planned trading features at any time to improve the app, prevent abuse, comply with platform rules, or protect service reliability.
